Enunciation, Cadence and Play
- Date: Fri 13 March
- Time: 3.30pm–5.30pm
Fee: £10 / Concession: £3
Spaces: 4 / Concession: 4
- Facilitated by: Christopher Kirubi
A practice-based writing workshop led by artist and poet Christopher Kirubi. Over the course of the two hour session, participants will be facilitated to both consider and play with enunciation (sounding out / vocalising) and cadence (rhythm, arrangement and speed of speech).
Through two exercises: a group reading and discussion and a free writing exercise, those who join can expect to both write and also reap what is beneficial from the reading that writing aloud. The prompts given for each exercise will be informed by the poetry of both Tracie Morris and Sonia Sanchez, and the Audre Lorde Questionnaire to Oneself.
Christopher Kirubi is a poet and artist who uses the mutability of images, objects and text to negotiate the limits of sexuality, gender, race and desire.
