This special edition screening is supported by Cinema For All. It culminates the thematic 16mm Advanced Bolex workshop ‘How an Image Holds Time’, previewing participants' films shot following the workshop. These shorts will introduce the feature BEGINNING (2020) by Dea Kulumbegashvilli (161-minute run-time). This Georgian debut is a striking film that will long be remembered for its evocative 35mm images. Join us in marking the winter closure for this year.

Synopsis: In a sleepy provincial town, a Jehovah’s Witness community is under attack from an extremist group. In the midst of this conflict is Yana, the wife of the community leader, whose familiar world is slowly crumbling around her.
