Cinema 4 All: Advanced Colour Bolex, How An Image Holds Time

Info

In this special edition workshop, you’ll explore how a filmic image holds time in relation to stillness, the archive, movement, personal association and grief. The in-person workshop is a discursive and theory-based session, which thinks through these ways film can be enacted as a medium of time. We will watch and discuss works that incorporate the discussed themes. You can plan ahead for what you may want to shoot; you will have Saturday, 7th December - Monday, 9th December, to shoot your film, returning the Bolex camera kit and your shot film by the End of the Day Monday, 9th December.

This special edition workshop is supported by Cinema For All and will culminate with a ticketed public screening of participants’ films and the feature film BEGINNING (2020) by Dea Kulumbegashvili. The cost of the workshop includes the cost of film, camera hire, digitisation and processing. Workshop participants are entitled to free entry to the screening.

The workshop fee includes the cost of 100ft of colour film stock and the cost of development and digitisation, which will be sent back to you after it has been processed.
